Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is scheduled to be released on February 29, 2024 for PS5, will have a file size of around 150 GB. This includes both the main and side content of the game, which is said to be very extensive by the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi.
The game will be released on two Blu-ray discs, but unlike the original game, there will be no need to switch between discs. Instead, you will install the game using both discs and only need one of them to play.
The development team chose to release the game on two discs in order to maintain their ambitious vision of a vast and highly detailed world.
In an interview, Hamaguchi said, “The scale of the game looks to be enormous, as the amount of side content is twice as much as the main missions. You’ll be able to discover locations in the side missions that aren’t even part of the main story.”
