At the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, Tripwire Interactive unveiled Killing Floor 3, the sequel to their popular co-op shooter. The game is set in 2091 and puts players in the role of a group of fighters who must stop Horzine Corporation’s plans to take over the world.
Killing Floor 3 will still be a co-op shooter that supports up to six players. There will be in-game purchases, but they will only be for cosmetic items that will not affect gameplay.
In an interview, game director Brian Wynia said that the development team is listening to what players want and will avoid pay-to-win scenarios. He also said that Killing Floor 2 received free updates and that the team plans to continue that practice with Killing Floor 3.
Killing Floor 3 is currently in development for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. No release date has been announced yet.
