Rod Fergusson, the veteran game developer and franchise lead for Diablo, has officially announced his departure from Blizzard Entertainment. In a heartfelt message shared on his official X account, Fergusson reflected on his five-year journey with the company.
Blizzard confirmed the news but declined to provide further details regarding the reasons behind Fergusson’s exit or who will take over the Diablo franchise leadership.
Fergusson joined Blizzard in 2020 after leaving The Coalition. Prior to that, he played a pivotal role in developing the Gears of War series at Epic Games and Microsoft. His tenure at Blizzard saw him guiding the Diablo franchise through critical phases, including the early reveal and development of Diablo IV.
